120 Tabernacle Street

PAST

The address at which the mayor took a tumble from his step-ladder whilst in the occupation of the General Post Office. A painter by trade, Alderman, F. James fell eight-feet onto a wooden floor striking the vicinity of his right-temple. He recuperated quickly in Bartholemew’s Hospital and resumed Mayoral duties within a fortnight (much to the relief of the Council and the community).
